Duck Dynasty's Al & Lisa Robertson Openly Talk About Adultery, Homosexuality, Abortion, & More in New Interview [WATCH HERE]
In a very candid interview with Huffington Post Live, A&E's 'Duck Dynasty' cast members Al and Lisa Robertson were grilled about their new book 'A New Season: A Robertson Family Love Story of Brokenness and Redemption', and the two share openly about adultery, homosexuality, abortion, and more.
During their recent interview with Huff Post Live, Al and Lisa walked through the many topics discussed in their new book. They began by talking about their promiscuity as teens, Al's drunken father, and Lisa being molested by her uncle. As the interview continued, reporter Nancy Redd started to question the couple on their Christian beliefs and the contrasting popular opinions in today's culture.
Redd mentioned Lisa's abortion as revealed in the book.
"I could have had three children and I messed that up," Lisa said, "There has not been - maybe a day has gone by - that I have not thought of this child. ... at the time it was the answer that I sought. As I sit here today that is not the answer I would have chosen had I known better, had I been more mature in my thinking."
She added that she would never call her abortion "a good choice" and said that if she could go back, she wouldn't make the same decision based on her Christian beliefs.
"I'm a Christian ... I don't feel like that I should have had a choice to take that life," she said.
When asked whether she considers herself pro-choice, she said, "Yes, I would. I'm not going to put my belief on you. If that's the way you feel then that's your choice ... in the end, you have to speak to God about that and so will I."
Al, called himself pro-life and said that, if it were up to him, he thinks "it's best not to have a choice to end life."
Continuing to press the couple, Redd asked them what they would do if one of their grandchildren came and told them that they were gay. "There's a not-insignificant chance that your grandchild could come up to you and say ... 'I'm gay.' ... How would you respond?" the reporter asked Al.
Without missing a beat Al responded with what he would tell his grandchild. "First of all I love you, I'll never stop loving you. You'll always be my grandson but I want to show you what God says and I want to show you maybe a way to reconsider what you think you are and maybe you can be something different."
