Duck Dynasty's Missy Robertson Launches 'Modest, Age-Appropriate, Contemporary' Fashion Line for Middle Aged Women
Duck Dynasty's Missy Robertson launched "Modest and age-appropriate" fashion, The Missy Robertson line by Southern Fashion House.
Reality star Missy Robertson is using her television success, as a platform to make a statement and said that it is okay to live, be modest, be classy, and fun all at the same time.
As many middle age women today know, dressing "age appropriate" has changed in its interpretation. In this day and age older women want to have that "younger fresher" look and rightfully so, since the phrase 50 is the new 30 has become popularized.
Missy Robertson is no different and has decided to do something about it. "I felt there was a void in the market for busy, working moms who want to look put together without having to put a lot of effort into it while staying modest and age-appropriate."
Missy Robertson said her target customers were orginally women her age but found that the clothing has been attractive to women of all ages. "At first I thought it would be a woman like myself-a busy mom who is always on the go. However, my 19 year old cousin loves every piece that I've worn so far and asks to borrow them. My 84-year old grandmother has also picked out a few pieces for herself. It seems to appeal to all ages, and that thrills me."
Robertson has collaborated with Stephanie Carter's Southern Fashion House, which also produces Judith March, Jacque, and Janis clothing lines and DejaVu boutiques. Robertson has been a fan of some of the lines so she immediately turned to Carter to help bring her vision to realization.
"I have always wanted to do a line with longer hemlines but simply needed the inspiration to do so. When I met Missy, she inspired me to put the collection together using my design and retail background, and so our collaboration began," says Stephanie Carter of Southern Fashion House.
A&E's reality television phenom "Duck Dynasty," has broken several ratings records on both A&E and cable television overall. The family is very forthright about their Christian faith and are shown praying at the end of each episode.
The fashionista Robertson has chosen to create a line that can not only be chic but appropriate and agreeable with her Christian faith. Former Victoria's Secret model Kylie Bisutti gave up her place on the provocative runway to bring modest apparel to fashion as well with her line, God Inspired Fashion.
Retail prices will range from $54-$120. The clothing is a mix of vibrant colors and patterns with slightly longer hemlines, varying sleeve options and shapes resulting in fashion that is figure flattering, age appropriate and contemporary. The collection will be available in department stores and select boutiques across the United States, Canada, & Mexico: www.shopmissyrobertson.com.
