‘Driveclub VR’ News: Device Gets 2016 Release?; Features More Competition, Passenger Mode

New details on the release date and gameplay of Sony and Evolution Studios' "Driveclub VR" have surfaced.

"Driveclub" is set to be out on PlayStation VR in 2016, as per PlayStation's official blog. As per the publication, the developers have been religiously working on the title for over a year to provide the "definitive" and "most immersive" "Driveclub" gaming experience possible.

According to the developers, competition is up in the game, and these include online virtual reality multiplayer game modes, single player career, drifting and time trial challenges, old-school and new "Driveclub" tracks, over 80 cars that showcase "immaculate fine" details for players to be proud of with Inspection Mode, cruise control, and virtual passengers.

Siliconera reports that the Passenger Mode comes into play when a player scans a replay of one of their races. In this mode, the player will experience the road experience in the passenger seat, allowing them to watch the race from another perspective.

According to Gamespot, the forthcoming PlayStation VR is assumed to be out on Oct. 13 and its price is expected to be at $400. As suggested by the publication, the studio is set to confirm if the upcoming "Driveclub" is set to be a launch title for the PlayStation VR in other countries outside Japan.

"Driveclub" is Sony and Evolution Studios' racing video game, originally released for the PlayStation 4 in Oct. 2014. In the game, players participate in racing events across the globe in multiple modes, such as competing in clubs along with other players, earning reputation as one of the greatest clubs, and leveling up to access new items and stronger status.
