'Dragon Ball XenoVerse' New Trailer News: Gamers Get In Depth Look into Upcoming DBZ Title [VIDEO]
The new 'Dragon Ball XenoVerse' trailer reveals some awesome details on the next gen take of the franchise.
This game has done something unlike any of its predecessors and will tell a story totally outside the finished manga. 'Dragon Ball XenoVerse' will allow players to create a custom player to fix the tampered timeline of the Z fighters and to stop the evil villains purposefully disrupting it.
Unlike most Dragonball Z games, this iteration plans to be richly story-driven as it will allow the player to dictate the flow of the game.
"My previous experience with DBZ games has involved short, relatively direct fights, so I was surprised to find that this battle - one of many story-driven missions in XenoVerse's single-player storyline - was actually a long, multi-stage affair that started with a fight in a narrow canyon against waves of small, gremlin-like Saibamen," writes IGN.
When you're not playing through the game's story, players will be able to venture out into "Toktoki City" to unlock new characters, fight other players, or take on sidequest. This adds a unique RPG-element to the game.
"You can also customize your character in Tokitoki, which goes deeper than cosmetic changes and new moves; according to Localization Producer Brandon Williams, you'll also be able to tweak your fighter's functionality to create, say, a tank by picking items and abilities that will make enemies focus their attacks on you," writes IGN.
This will be the first Dragonball Z game on a next gen console so the visuals and mechanics will have transcended anything that has been released yet.
'Dragon Ball XenoVerse' is set to be released February 24th.
