Dr. Dre New Music News: Rapper to Release New Album

After being silent for 15 years in his music career renowned musician Dr. Dre just recently announced his upcoming new album after more than a decade titled 'Compton: The Soundtrack'. The artist broke the news at his weekly radio show 'The Pharmacy with Dr. Dre' airing Saturdays.

Dr. Dre, who was then talking to his pals Ice Cube and 'Straight Outta Compton' director F. Gary Gray revealed how he was inspired by Gray's film to be back in the studio after a long time and record an album he calls his "grand finale."

"I found myself being so inspired by the movie that I started recording an album," Dre said of his new record Compton: The Soundtrack. "It's inspired by Straight Outta Compton, and I'm really proud of this."

Not only would it be a record of Dr. Dre, apparently, he also revealed that he collaborated with other big-named rappers that makes the album even more exciting for his fans. "Ice Cube is on the album. Kendrick Lamar is on the record, Eminem is on the record, Snoop Dogg is on the record. All my friends came in, old and new. I worked with a lot of new and exciting musicians, producers, singers, rappers. And we all came together to build this thing, and it's going to be my grand finale. The record is crazy," he said.

And while others may think including himself that he could be a little rusty since he had been out of the recording studio for 15 years, Dr. Dre proudly shares that the album is a success. "The heart and the emotion is there. You come to understand who we are as people, and what it took to make this s--t happen," Dre shared.

"It's more than just the music, I think the music is the co-star in the movie, and our characters, being able to understand who we are and what it took to get this thing done, I think people are really going to gravitate towards that and really appreciate it, and be inspired by it as well," he added.

Apparently, Dr. Dre has been working on the album for quite a while now and now, he is finally happy to share it with everyone as it will be exclusively available on Apple Music this coming August 7, 2015.

"I kept it under wraps," Dre says of the recording. "But now the album is finished-it's bananas."
