There will be a big showdown cooking between Edith and Mary in the next episode of popular show "Downton Abbey."

PBS has revealed the official synopsis as it reads. "Two romances get complicated. Molesley and Spratt try out new jobs. Thomas takes a fateful step. Mrs. Patmore provokes a scandal. Isobel puts her foot down." The preview for Episode 8 can be viewed on the official site as well.

The plot looks like vague in form, but viewers might be excited reading the short but informational synopsis. On the other hand, as for Edith and Mary's "Smackdown," The Daily Beast reports that the sister will finally be confronting each other after six years of misunderstanding. 

"The row we all knew was coming. I'm not sorry. I'm just sorry we didn't have it years ago," Lady Edith said, quoted from the source. The feud reached its peak after the never ending backstabbing and mischievous acts done by the provocative Lady Mary.

The website went on to continue that the latter has been plotting to sabotage Lady Edith's happiness by telling Bertie Pelham that Edith had a biological daughter named Marigold.  After dropping the secret to Pelham, the sister had an exchange of foul words.

"I know you to be a nasty, jealous, scheming bitch," Edith told her. Mary dissed her sister as well by calling her pathetic, but to no avail, Edith was having none of it. "You're a bitch," she added.

This scene could lead to a fiery fight between the sisters stay tuned as the next episode debuts in small screens.
