Dove Awards 2014 Performers & Presenters: Mandisa, Danny Gokey, and Pat Boone Added; Southern Gospel Medley Highlights Event
Yesterday the Dove Awards announced another group of presenters and performers that will appear at the biggest event in Christian music.
Joining the show is Pat Boone, Mandisa, Danny Gokey, and Dr. Bobby Jones. There will also be Southern Gospel medley featuring Brian Free & Assurance, Karen Peck & New River, Wayne Haun and Ernie Haase.
Also recently added to the performer list is for King & Country, Ellie Holcomb, 1 Girl Nation, and Tedashii. They join Natalie Grant, Hezekiah Walker, Matthew West and Erica Campbell.
Joining Capital Kings, Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton, author Karen Kingsbury, and Bill Gaither are the presenters: David and Tamela Mann, Al and Lisa Robertson of Duck Dynasty, and Sandi Patty.
The Songwriter of the Year Nominees have been announced as well. That list includes Ben Glover, David Garcia, Chris Tomlin, Chris Stevens, and Jessie Reeves.
The night will be hosted by Christian rapper Lecrae and MercyMe frontman Bart Millard.
"I can't wait to be a part of what I believe will be a historic evening," said Lecrae in a press release, "Co-hosting with a great friend and talented artist makes it even better. Be careful though, who knows what will happen when Bart and I get together."
"I'm so excited to be part of this year's Dove Awards. The Doves are unique because they bring all styles of Gospel music together. Lecrae and I are just a small example of how different and yet unified this community is in sharing a message of love and hope through music," Millard said before joking, "To prove how unified we are, I will be freestylin' my fresh rhymes while Lecrae sings the chorus to 'I Can Only Imagine" over and over!"
This year's award show will be on October 7 at the Allen Arena in Nashville, Tennessee and will be exclusively aired on TBN October 12.
