'Dota 2' Latest News: Game Update Gets Monkey King, Open Qualifiers Include EU Teams

Along with talks about Monkey Being being released with the next update of Valve's "Dota 2," the NA region open qualifiers is reportedly involving EU teams.

Accorrding to iTech Post, FaceiT and Perfect World are set to organize two sets of open qualifier playoffs. As per the publication, Prodota Gaming, an EU team, is the first finalist in the NA region. It is added that nine from the top 16 teams who made to the following round are also from EU.

In this regard, "Dota" fans questioned Valve's rules for the event. In a statement, as cited by Dota Blast, Prodota Gaming said that there was a clear imbalance between the Europe and CIS region and not enough to fill the other; however, they got the same number of spots every time. It is added that they had opted to take their chances in the Americas Open Qualifiers, with emphasis that it was not specified in the rules that changing regions was allowed.

"The decision is spurred by their belief that there should be equal chances for everyone and the flawed system needs to change," Prodota Gaming said.

In line with the game, it is assumed that Monkey King is newest hero for "Dota 2." According to Mobile and Apps, the character is expected to join the game in December, along with the next game update. As per the publication, Valve is yet to unveil details about the character, including the heroes' stats and abilities.

Developed by Valve, "Dota 2" was initially released for Microsoft Windows, Linux, and OS X in 2013.
