Donald Glover has been continually successful in terms of various entertainment platforms, but many fans still only know him for his rap persona, Childish Gambino.

He's been heralded as one of today's greatest lyricist, and his most recent mixtape 'Kaui' has got the artist in his prime, but in a recent interview on Today, Glover may want to go another route musically in the near future.

"I always want to do music, and I want to produce..." Glover states. "But I guess Childish Gambino is like a period in my art time. I wanna have periods in my life. So I feel like Childish Gambino is a period that should come to a close. I like endings."

He later adds, "I look at my life as something you should be able to paint."

While it may be interpreted another way, it doesn't sound like the entertainer will completely abandon music, but perhaps leave his rap name off the rest of it.

In any case, Glover seems to have pursuing major acting roles a lot more aggressively lately, and possibly leaving his music career on the back burner for a while.

"Although his Magic Mike XXL appearance has been the subject of much speculation, Glover was actually a special guest on TODAY to promote the upcoming horror film, The Lazarus Effect, opposite Oliva Wilde and Mark Duplass," writes Hip Hop Wired.
