With the "Doctor Who" spin-off series "Class" upcoming this year, "Doctor Who" lead actor Peter Capaldi and author Patrick Ness voiced their insights on the forthcoming show.

He also mentioned that to be honest, he had not seen any of the scripts, adding that it would have been nice if the Doctor had shown up from time to time.
"Chaos Walking" and "A Monster Calls" author, journalist, and lecturer Ness has also voiced his thoughts on the upcoming "Doctor Who" spin-off series. For the author, he wanted to see somebody come up with something new.
Ness also teased whether Capaldi would make an appearance in "Class." In the same interview, Ness said that he could neither yet confirm nor deny. However, he pointed out that he was a big Capaldi fan, saying "let's put it that way."
Ness explained that he was not going to answer the question and said that he had already started ignoring the sort of baiting, trolling tweets of "We've heard this!" and "my sources say!" He said that he just laughed, as some of the stuff he had seen were so wildly wrong. For Ness, 2016 could have been a fun year.
