'Doctor Who' Season 10 Spoilers, News: Moffat Says New Season To Be Nothing Like Before

"Doctor Who" showrunner Steven Moffat teased recently that fans should expect nothing less than a brand new show when the series returns for its 10th season.

"I want it to feel like episode 1 of a brand new show. I want to leave just as it's all beginning," said Moffat in an interview.

It was reported previously that Moffat is already set to leave "Doctor Who" after this season and that "Broadchurch" creator Chris Chibnall will take his place. Fans believe that adding new blood in its production is a great way to keep everything in "Doctor Who" fresh and original despite the recurrence of characters.

According to Moffat, his goal is to make sure that season 10's premiere episode next year will be nothing like before.

Some say that season 10 is Moffat's way of making up for his past regrets as one of "Doctor Who's" showrunners. While the sweeping success of seasons 5 to 9 are attributed to him, there are rumors that Moffatt is still being haunted by the fact that he did not have anything new to offer when the premiere episode of season 9, titled "The Magician's Apprentice," aired.

"First episodes are tough, and I feel as though I slightly fumbled it," said Moffat when asked about his thoughts on season 9.

Fans believe that Moffat's slight dissatisfaction over season 9 is what will primarily drive him to create something remarkably epic in season 10.

Starring Peter Capaldi as the 12th doctor, "Doctor Who" season 10 is set to return in spring of 2017.
