‘Doctor Who’ Christmas Special 2015: The Twelfth Doctor, River Song To Fight Robots?

Following the Season 9 finale of the BBC series "Doctor Who," the Twelfth Doctor (Peter Capaldi) is set to run into his wife River Song (Alex Kingston) to combat a robot instead of spending Christmas under the mistletoe in "Doctor Who" Christmas Special 2015 episode.

"Doctor Who" Christmas Special 2015 is entitled "The Husbands of River Song." In a new poster recently released by BBC, the Twelfth Doctor and Song were seen facing a robot.

According to International Business Times, the robot is owned by King Hydroflax (Greg Davies). Song and the Doctor reportedly maddened Hydroflax, which led him to send the robot.

In the photo, Song was also holding a new weapon, which looked very handy and suitable for combat with aliens and other creatures. She also had a fearless stance in the new poster, as opposed to the poster previously released in November, in which she seemed very "clingy" to the Doctor.

On the other hand, the Doctor seemed to be handling a small flashlight in the new poster. While some fans rumor that the weapon was a new sonic screwdriver, many fans are looking forward that he will get rid of the sonic sunglasses.

"The Husbands of River Song" sets the comeback of Kingston as Song, along with Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor. Douglas Mackinnon is set to helm the episode while Steven Moffat is in charge of the teleplay.

Mackinnon's "Doctor Who" Christmas Special 2015, "The Husbands of River Song," airs on Dec. 25, according to Den of Geek.
