'Doctor Strange' Cast News: Kevin Explains How Character Fits in the MCU
Kevin Feige has recently been really vocal about his long slate of Marvel films, as he's recently let us in on what he's planning to do with next year's 'Doctor Strange' movie.
In another interview with Zap2it, the Marvel Studio President elaborates on what fans can expect for the first live action representation of the character. He previously defined it as "mind-bending weirdness."
Feige first states that since The Avengers already exist in the world, the movie will have a way to acknowledge the fact that there are still cosmic beings such as himself that exists:
"Doctor Strange, for instance, is kind of [in his own world]. He's in New York, but he's a surgeon and he's got his own thing going on, and when he has to try to fix his hands he goes on another journey.
"All these movies are connected, so they inhabit -- as the comics did -- the same universe. Like Ant-Man, Doctor Strange lives in a world where aliens came out over Grand Central Station. Again, he also is a brain surgeon. When he's in the operating room, he's not thinking about those other things. He's working on what he's working on."
Its safe to say that 'Doctor Strange' will release in chronological order compared to the rest of Marvel's slated films, however in a previous interview with io9, Feige states that this may not always be the case.
"Certainly we could [set another one in the past]," he states. "There are no rules. I think the majority of them will be chronological, but not all of them necessarily."
'Doctor Strange' will be released in theaters on November 4, 2016.
