'Doctor Strange' Movie Latest News: Marvel Teases Sanctum Sanctorum

With Scott Derrickson's upcoming Marvel Comics film "Doctor Strange" coming to theaters this year, Marvel dropped several concept art, including Doctor Strange's headquarters, the Sanctum Sanctorum.

Released by Marvel, Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum looks large, enough to accommodate people, mystic artifacts, and other objects. Another shot of Strange's hideout shows circular structures, which are believed to be portals that would transport Strange or other people from the Sanctum Sanctorum to other dimensions.

Marvel's cinematic adaptation of Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum is modernized, according to Slash Film. It is noted that the window in the image is relatable to the concept art released in December 2015 and Derrickson's version of Strange's hideout seems to solve the storage issues for the Sorcerer Supreme's possessions.

Aside from the Sanctum Sanctorum, other versions of the concept art include Benedict Cumberbatch in his outfit as Strange, both lateral view and front view. The Another shot of Cumberbatch shows him as Strange while showing his magical powers. One more shot shows Strange as a patient in the hospital, presumably after the accident.

Along with Strange and his Sanctum Sanctorum, Marvel also released a concept art of a magical dimension, just like the astral plane, which fans are set to see in Derrickson's "Doctor Strange."

"Doctor Strange" stars Amy Landecker, Rachel McAdams, Mads Mikkelsen, Scott Adkins, Michael Stuhlbarg, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tilda Swinton, and Cumberbatch as Strange.

Derrickson's "Doctor Strange" follows the Strange, a neurosurgeon whose hands' fine motor skills faded following an accident. He meets the Ancient One, a master magician who mentors him to become the Sorcerer Supreme and use the mystic arts to save the world from forces of evil.

Derrickson at the helm of the film while Jon Spaights, Thomas Dean Donnelly, Steve Ditko, and Joshuan Oppenheimer are on board to pen the screenplay. Broussard, D'Esposito, Stan Lee, and Victoria Alonso, will co-produce the film, among others.

Derrickson's "Doctor Strange" is set to hit theaters in the United States on Nov. 4, 2016.
