'Disney Infinity' News: House Of Mouse Title Goes Offline?
Fans may not see "Disney Infinity" any longer, as Disney Interactive Studios revealed that the title is set to go offline.
"Disney Infinity" leaves the timeline on Mar. 3, 2017, Mac Rumors has learned. As per the publication, the Windows 8 and 10, as well as the Apple TV iterations of the sandbox video game's 2.0 and 3.0 will not longer be accessible, supported, and playable.
According to CNET, new in-game purchases of "Disney Infinity" 2.0 for Steam/PC, Apple TV, Amazon Fire devices, and iOS are no longer available on July 29. On the other hand, in-game purchases for the title's 3.0 version for PC gamers via Steam will still be supported. The base game for the title is no longer be accessible on Sept. 30.
In a statement, "Disney Infinity" developer Avalanche Studios said that since announcing that they would stop the production of the title, they had been exploring timelines for the closure of the game's online versions and community features. It was added that the goal had been to offer extended access to such services, while also providing clear communication about what one could expect.
As per Game Spot, it was earlier this year when the House of Mouse revealed that it had concluded its production on the "Disney Infinity" series, along with the reveal that it had been leaving the game development.
Developed by Avalanche Studios and published by Disney Interactive Studios, "Disney Infinity" was initially released on Aug. 18.
