Disney News: Popular Characters & Brands to Released on iOS devices, GIF App & Keyboard Launch
Disney is offering a customized keyboard that will enable users to send more than 200 different GIF images via text, social media and e-mail. Tech Crunch reports that the move is aimed at introducing its popular characters and brands to iOS devices.
According to Latin Post, these GIFs will present moving pictures with Disney and Pixar characters. In fact, Disney is not the first to develop customized keyboards, as other developers have created it before. Nearly all of these keyboards allowed the users to type faster with predictive text or finger swipes and were developed when iOS 8 was released. There was another popular keyboard app variety that allowed users to send GIFs via text messages. Moreover, apps such as Blippy, Riffsy, PopKey or Kanvas also allowed users to copy and paste GIFs into Apple's messaging app and subsequently send them by means of text.
While these other GIF keyboard apps offer a bigger range of moving images, Disney fans will also be pleased about Disney GIF's gallery of images. Parents will also appreciate that the entire images are apt for all ages.
The entireimages from the Disney GIF app are from Disney movies like 'Frozen' or 'Star Wars' in addition to ABC shows like 'Once Upon A Time' and 'Scandal.' In fact, the images from 'Scandal' have been selected carefully to ensure they are suitable for all audiences.
At present, about 200 GIFs are available across the Disney GIF gallery, and more are to come. At the launch, 'Star Wars' offers the largest collection of GIF images. Disney has announced that it wants to add more GIFs with a view to remain competitive with other already available free GIF apps.
The new app will allow users to search for GIFs by Disney movie or show, by what's trending. At the same time, it offers some paid 'Frozen' content that can be acquired inside the app for $0.99. It is likely that Disney will add more paid quality content GIFs to the app soon.
In fact, the success of Disney emojis has inspired Disney to create the Disney GIF app. For instance, the 'Star Wars' emojis become so widely popular that they generated over 1 billion impressions on Twitter in the first two weeks of their availability. Disney is hoping that sharing GIFs on social media will help it to get it additional exposure online.
While Disney GIF can be installed on iOS devices for the time being, an Android app may be coming in the future.
