'Diablo 3' News Update & Rumors: Game Going To Have An Expansion?

Blizzard Entertainment's "Diablo 3" might have an expansion, as per reports.

According to iTech Post, the studio might be developing a new content for the action role-playing video game. As per the publication, this stemmed from a rumor that "Diablo 3" was placed under maintenance mode; however, the said rumor was debunked because players thought that there was no new content to be added. Blizzard is yet to confirm the details.

Along with a "Diablo 3" expansion, rumors also claim that the studio will release a special or remastered edition of either "Diablo 1" or "Diablo 2," in celebration of the game's 20th anniversary. As per reports, this could be a surprising variable to players, since Blizzard managed to keep tight-lipped about the rumored games.

Things could be frustrating for some players not to see a new "Diablo" game, as this year stands as the game's two decades of existence. According to Rhykker, players might see something special about the game franchise, as the game's booth is now called "Diablo," instead of "Diablo 3;" as per the publication, it could be a proof that the studio is working out something for the latter.

Together with talks about a "Diablo 3" expansion is the release of "Diablo 4." As per iTech Post, Blizzard will announce the game at Blizzcon 2016, which is assumed to commence on Nov. 4. In this regard, some speculate that the studio is teasing fans with such indirect revelations.

Developed by Blizzard Entertainment, "Diablo 3" was initially released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows, and Macintosh in 2012.
