Nashville's Legendary Gospel Great DEWITT JOHNSON CD Release Concert June 25 at David Lipscomb Shamblin Theatre

Nashville's Legendary Gospel Great Dewitt Johnson will hold an album release concert on Monday, June 25 at the David Lipscomb University Shamblin Theater (3901 Granny White Pike, Nashville).  Joining Dewitt for the concert are guest hosts Lady Shaunte of 760 AM Radio and Damon King of 102FM The Light. The concert begins at 7PM with admission of $10 (includes a copy of the CD).  The noted songwriter and local TV host's new release THOU ART HOLY is available online now on Amazon.com and iTunes.

About Dewitt Johnson: 

Minister James "Dewitt" Johnson co-organized his first gospel group, The BC&M Choir, while he was still in high school in Nashville, Tennessee.  The songwriter and piano player has several of his songs used as themes for television and radio gospel music programs, including "Glad to be in God's Service", "I've Been Touched", "Nothing Gonna Hinder Me", and "Things Have Got To Get Better".

In 1974, The James Johnson Ensemble's album The Harvest Is Plentifulwas RIAA certified Gold and was nominated for a Grammy Award while remaining on Billboard's Gospel Chart for more than 100 weeks.  Dewitt has had the honor of singing at the Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, The Montrose Jazz Festival in Switzerland with Quincy Jones, and has shared the stage with Mariah Carey, Joe Cocker, The Neville Brothers, Peabo Bryson, Shirley Caesar, Bobby Jones and so many more.  Dewitt currently has his own local television program -Touching The World With Dewitt Johnson which airs on News Channel 5+ and Fox Channel 17.
