'Devious Maids' Season 5 News & Update: Lifetime Keeps Mum Amidst Cancellation Rumors

Rumors about the cancellation of "Devious Maids" season 5 have been making the rounds lately due to its continuous drop in ratings. Despite the endless rumors, however, Lifetime has remained mum about the issue.

Because the season 4 finale did not give them the closure that they wanted for the series, fans took the initiative to save "Devious Maids" from cancellation through an online petition. It can be recalled that while the previous season ended with the revelation of Peri's killer, it also left a major cliffhanger.

There is currently an online petition to renew "Devious Maids" for another season. The petition is close to reaching 2,000 supporters as of this writing and states that the renewal of the show lies upon the unity of fans and supporters of the series to get the attention of Lifetime.

Recently, an interview with showrunner Brian Tanen and executive producer Sabrina Wind seemed to have offered a ray of hope for fans. The two shared their thoughts on the renewal or cancellation of the series.

According to Tanen, they have always kept a positive attitude towards the end of every season and they hope for a renewal as well. On the other hand, Wind hinted at the renewal of the series when he revealed receiving a "very positive feedback from Lifetime" with regards to season 5.

If "Devious Maids" is renewed for another season, it is expected to pick up where the previous season left off--the mysterious disappearance of Marisol on the wedding day.
