'Destiny' Update News, Rumors, Details: Weekly Reset, Patch Resolving Melee Attack Issues Unveiled?
With "Destiny's" update, details on the weekly reset and melee attack issues have been revealed.
According to VG247, "Destiny's" April update includes "Challenge of the Elders." As per the publication, the update is bound to reset every week. In line with the challenge, it is revealed that super kills are awarded with additional score and points. Also, the first gameplay modifier, Brawler, gives a significant boost to Guardians melee damage while the second gameplay modifier, Ironclad, features more enemies with shields.
Bungie, one of the developers of "Destiny," is also set to unleash patch 2.2.0.2, which covers several updates for the game, according to Cinema Blend. As per the publication, a networking issue is involved with the game issue concerning melee attacks; thus, it needs addition time to be implemented.
In a statement (via Bungie's official website), "Destiny" engineer Jon Cable explained the issue. He said that when a melee attack seemed like it connected, but it did not do any damage, that was usually a networking problem. According to Cable, it usually happened when there was an issue communicating a player's position to the other machines in the game, or if the would-be victim was having a similar problem.
Cable added that he had tweaked some networking logic related to player positions during melee attacks, which should help address such issues. For the game engineers, such error could still occur, as the internet was not perfect; however, it should be better.
"Destiny" patch 2.2.0.3 goes live on May 3 while the melee fix is set to go live after the extensive testing on May 10. Watch the game trailer here.
