‘Destiny: The Dark Below’ New Update Changes: Patch Notes Showcase Upgrade System Tweaks, Dec. 9

Game developer Bungie announced last Wednesday that 'Destiny: The Dark Below' will be released on Dec. 9 this year and that it will drastically change the experience of playing 'Destiny' for the player base.

Initially, Game Rant said that although fans knew that the release would include some major changes for the game, no one really knew what those changes would be, until Bungie's recent announcement.

According to Bungie's official website, the gaming world of 'Destiny' will expand with the release of 'The Dark Below' update, adding that major changes have been made in the system to support the update.

One such system that will be changed by the update is the Legendary Gear that players certainly want to get their hands on. The existing Legendary Gear in 'Destiny' will be removed and a new gear with higher Attack and Defense values will take its place.

In terms of Rank Commendations, a Crucible or Vanguard Commendation was created and it will be required when purchasing Legendary items.

Meanwhile, as part of the 'Destiny' patch, upgrading Exotic Armor and Weapons will no longer require Ascendant Materials and the final power node of all Exotic Gear will require an Exotic Shard which can be obtained either by dismantling unwanted exotics or purchasing it from Xûr for seven strange coins.

However, 'The Dark Below' will see to it that the Exotic Gear will have higher Attack and Defense values than current Exotic Gear.

Additionally, those who have the current version of Exotics, Xûr will offer players the opportunity to upgrade Exotics to the higher Attack and Defense values starting December 9.

There will also be Crucible (PvP) Changes where New Crucible arenas will be featured in map rotation.

Changes will also be made to Heroics and Nightfall (PvE). Whenever the light level reaches 32, Heroics and Nightfalls will bump by two light levels to keep up with the game.

Lastly, with 'The Dark Below' comes a New Raid system, the Crota's End, which will unlock on December 9.

In Crota's End, the raid loot will drop at a higher rate. Also, unwanted weapons and gear will dismantle into Radiant materials and weapons and Gear will not require Ascendant materials for upgrades.
