'Destiny' Iron Banner Cancelled This Week, Bungie Director Reveals More Details On 'Rise Of Iron'

Along with "Destiny: Rise of Iron" coming soon, it is revealed that the game's Iron Banner Tournament for this week has been canceled.

Bungie has recently announced that it is canceling the Iron Banner Tournament, which is set to take place live tomorrow, Game Spot has learned. As per the publication, the reasons are responsible for what happened.

The first is related issues attached to the game since last week. The second is linked to network connection problems, which halt gamers from participating in matches in Trials of Osiris. The third involves incorrect registration of damage in Crucible matches, in addition to failure to load of character data.

Bungie considered bringing back the Iron Banner Tournament to provide fans and gamers something worthwhile for them to do, as "Destiny: Rise of Iron" expansion set to launch in September. The Tournament serves as the game's competitive mode, which lets characters with high light levels to become stronger. It is supposed to take place in one week and players can gain access to the Iron Banner influence for better rewards.

In his interview with IGN, Bungie Director Christopher Barrett explained how "Destiny" was shifting its gears for "Rise of Iron." According to Barrett, they always wanted to tell a story about something players had been already invested in, such as the history when a city had been first built and its protector. In addition, the Bungie Director said that bringing nostalgic features to players was a cool thing to play with.

Meanwhile, "Destiny: Rise of Iron" is set to feature the most powerful weapon, the Gjallarhorn, along with Iron and the Black-White variants, as per Express. Along with it, the game title is set to have new characters, new maps, and new weapons.

"Destiny: Rise of Iron" is set to released in September.
