'Destiny 2' Delayed Release News: Bungie Causes 'Destiny Malaise?' Vague Roadmaps Puts Over First AAA Game To Next Year?
With the release of the first-person shooting online video game "Destiny 2" fast approaching, some reports revealed that its landing on the market has been delayed.
The delay of the game's release slightly rooted from lack of new content, alongside ineffective communication from developer Bungie, according to Kotaku. This also serves as a reason behind the sense of dissatisfaction among hardcore "Destiny" gamers. As per the publication, the game is in a situation called "Destiny malaise."
While Bungie laid down a clear path of "Destiny" during the game's first year, the firm reportedly failed to offer players a roadmap that presents what lies ahead in the future. According to Kotaku, this is due to Bungie might not have defined yet what was coming down the road, in addition to reports saying that plans for the game's future were in "flux."
Bungie and Activision planned to release new and disc-based game sequels and downloadable expansions every other year until 2019, as per Game Spot. The former had also set its game releases that would cover "full" games like "Destiny 1" and "Destiny 2" and some expansions like "Comet 1" and "Comet 2." However, the plan has reportedly changed, with Bungie leaving no comment or update.
As per iDigital Times, many players were holding out hope for the game's expansion this fall, primarily due to the lack of considerable content for the game. And with the delayed release, it is assumed that "Destiny 2" will be the first AAA game of 2016 that will be postponed to 2017, according to the publication.
For the time being, reports say that "Destiny 2" is set to be released in 2017.
