'Destiny 2' News: Release In 2017, On Par With Future Game Consoles

New details on the release date of Bungie's upcoming sequel "Destiny 2" and the original game's "Rise of Iron" expansion have surfaced. Also, it has been revealed that the upcoming title is set to raise the bar further. 

"Destiny 2" is set to be released in 2017 while the DLC "Rise of Iron" is set to be launched on Sept. 20, Christian Daily has learned.

With the approaching arrival of the said games, it is assumed that fans' hype levels are high. Conversely, Bungie's efforts that it puts on its game titles is expected to have be directly proportional to the fans' excitement.

In a statement, as cited by Bungie's official website, studio design head Lars Bakken said that they would be plotting more specific waypoints as time went on. Bakken also mentioned that at the moment, there were hundreds of passionate people at Bungie working to turn the plan for Destiny's future into the adventures, dangerous enemies, and glittering treasures that awaited them.

Bungie is set to raise its bar higher for "Destiny 2" by taking advantage of the next generation consoles, according to MNR Daily. As per the publication, the studio is set to transition from the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This implies that the upcoming "Destiny" installments can be played with the new consoles, in addition, the game's compatibility to advanced consoles means better content and added details.

"Destiny 2" is rumored to come out in 2017 and it is preceded by "Rise of Iron" on Sept. 20.
