Denver Nuggets NBA 2015 News and Rumors: Will Jeremy Lin and Mike D’ Antoni Reunite in Denver?
As Billy Donovan has already decided to take up the position of head coach with Oklahoma City, Denver may be compelled to look for another available coach to replace Donovan. In fact, they may consider signing up Thunder coach Scott Brooks or Mike D'Antoni for the job.
According to a recent report by Christian Today, D'Antoni is more likely to take up the assignment, as he is available immediately. In fact, Brooks, who was fired by Thunder after the team failed to make it to the playoffs, is another coach in fray for the job. In addition, many other NBA teams may also be pursuing him.
According to speculations, in case D'Antoni takes up the position of chief coach, it is possible that Jeremy Lin be next to join him in Denver.
Latest news suggests that Lin is unlikely to re-sign with the Lakers after this season ends. Now it is well known that Lin has not been able to fit into coach Byron Scott's system. The situation worsened for him as he even doesn't see eye-to-eye with resident superstar Kobe Bryant.
In such a situation, it is prudent to think that Lin would be reuniting with D'Antoni in Denver or any other team. NBA enthusiasts will remember that the two had a great time in New York and soon after Lin's career began to rise. Therefore, it would be best for Lin to get his career back on track with the coach who has played a vital role in his rise to stardom.
While all these possibilities remain, one aspect that may create an obstacle is Lin's hefty contract. Now it remains to be seen if the Nuggets will be willing to pay Lin that much of money, averaging about $8,374,646 per year.
In fact, his salary is the main obstacle and in this case Lin may be forced to take a pay-cut, which could be a practicable idea for Lin at present considering his recent performance.
What is important for Lin right now is to re-establish himself and, of course, remain fit and healthy. While injuries have been plaguing Lin lately, D'Antoni could help guide him back to his fiery form if they happen to reunite in Denver, or somewhere else.
At the same time, both Lin and D' Antoni have a common goal - to prove that the Lakers have made a big mistake of allowing them to walk.
