‘Degrassi: The Next Generation’ Cast Reunion News: Four Series Stars Revisit Their Memories

During their years on the high school drama, Degrassi: The Next Generation, Lauren Collins, Jake Epstein and Shane Kippel captured the hearts of teenage viewers. The three co-stars have come together for what looks like an impromptu reunion.

Collins, who played Paige Michalchuk on the show, uploaded a photo of herself with Epstein and Kippel on her Instagram page on June 29th.

She captioned the photograph with, "These guys! (Racing to post this before @shaneykipps does...) #DEGRASSI."

Of course, the first question that comes to the mind of Degrassi fans everywhere is the reason for the three of them being together.

Apparently, they are together for a promotional Degrassi shoot for It Goes there: Degrassi's Most Talked About Moments, a special that will be airing on Teen Nick on July 31st.

After it was recently revealed that TeenNick will be cancelling Degrassi after fourteen seasons, fans of the show were almost in tears.

However, they were thrilled to find that Netflix and Family Channel will be launching a new series in the franchise, called Degrassi: Next Class.

It is possible that the promo shoot with the old cast has some connection to the new series.

Although this has not been confirmed, fans are almost sure that this is the case. Linda Schuyler, the executive producer and co creator of Degrassi discussed her feelings about the new show.

"We are energized and excited to work with Family Channel as we tell stories for the new post- millennial teen cohort known as Generation Z, most of whom weren't even born when Degrassi returned in 2001," said Schuyler.
