'Death Stranding' Release Date News: Game In Preliminary Stage Of Development; Beach Local Part To Be Added

Hideo Kojima has shared new info about the development of one of his upcoming works, "Death Stranding." The creator of the "Metal Gear" saga has confirmed that the beach locale part of the teaser that was launched before will definitely be part of the final game.

According to PlayStation Lifestyle, Kojima has not chosen an engine yet for the game but is very close to picking one. It was stated that Kojima and his team has been "making several tests." Kojima also said that he is already working on the plot and doing some tests. "I'm trying to figure out what the settings for what the story will be; some character design," Kojima said.

He also emphasized that he and his team are still in the "preliminary stage of the development" as of now. "...There are elements that I don't know yet how much I will be able to put in there. I'm not working on the details, on the specifics yet. No dialogue yet, the plot... there's no real plot. I'm working on the setting and what things will be be," Kojima said.

Also, according to IGN, Ludens, the team's mascot, will not appear in the game. Kojima also confessed that it is really him who's the face of Ludens. According to Polygon, Kojima said that it was actually his face that was scanned for the mascot (not actor Norman Reedus). He said that he found the face creepy so he decided to have it adjusted. Also according to the site, Reedus was supposed to star in an upcoming "Silent Hill" game, however, it got cancelled. Now we thought we saw the face of Reedus in yet another work of Kojima. Turns out that it was really Kojima all along.

"Death Stranding" is an upcoming game which is currently being developed by Kojima Productions.The game is set to be published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4.
