‘Death Stranding' News, Rumors: Title Leaks Connection Among People, Life, Death
In line with Sony's "Death Stranding," is it revealed that the title is set to feature life and people connection as its themes.
In his interview with Wired during Sony's press conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016, as cited by Segment Next, "Metal Gear" creator Hideo Kojima said that in arcade games, people had a notion of dying, putting another quarter in, and returning. He said that that had not changed in the 35 years that he had been making games.
For Kojima, "Death Stranding" would incorporate life and death, though he wanted to give a different twist to such notion. As per the game developer, the twist might involve crabs, whales, and things with umbilical cables, along with a keyword that connects people.
In the same interview, Kojima said that connecting people through gameplay was the basis of the title and that means trying to connect one character to another or to connect life and death.
Kojima also spoke his thoughts on how "Death Stranding" is going to be a new breed of action game. In his interview with IGN, he said that "Metal Gear" had been an action game, but it had been an action game where one had happened to be hiding. He said that there had been no genre for such back then and it was now classified as a stealth game. In line with that, he said that "Death Stranding" would also be an action game, but he wanted to make it something new and different.
"Death Stranding" was announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016 in June. Exact details on the title's release date are yet to be revealed.
