'Death Stranding' News: Hideo Kojima Confuses Fans Some More After E3 Tease?
After a short clip of "Death Stranding" was shown on E3, fans were left confused as to what the game was all about. But creator Hideo Kojima only added to the confusion when he chose to talk about symbols in the new sit-down interview.
Kojima talked to Wired where he talked about the strands that connect the people and death.
"What people are playing today in open-world action games, or linear action games, it will compare naturally to them," he said. "It will feel familiar. But after an hour or two of playing, you will start to feel something different, something new that you haven't played."
That's not very clear. Is there any more detail on the gameplay?
He said that in the beginning of time, the early humans depended on sticks for survival. Then they later invented the rope to keep those close to them in. "In Death Stranding, there will be the equivalent of sticks. But also, I want to tie people together with the equivalent of ropes," he said.
Fans wanting to hear news about whether "Death Stranding" would be multiplayer or single-player are rewarded with this response from Kojima, "It's not so simple. It's a new system. It's not as if today you have online gameplay where you fight with guns, and I'm swapping them for ropes."
Meanwhile, a news article from Geek shared the theory about "Death Stranding" being more personal for Hideo Kojima that people realize, as it may have connections to his split with Konami.
"It's also possible that Hideo's entire ordeal leaked into this trailer subconsciously," it said. "He may not have intended it to be a deliberate allegory, but could've ended up that way regardless."
