'Deadpool' Movie News: Upcoming Ryan Reynolds Gets a PG-13 Rating?
Shortly after the exciting announcement of 'Deadpool' making its way to theaters, a PG-13 rating followed, and brought with it some concern. This discerned fans because the original source material is very violent and gory, so some felt as if viewers were going to receive a watered down film.
This however may not be the case due to a recent tweet from Ryan Reynolds. A fan recently asked him what the rating of the film was going to be, and his response followed:
"'@DPklok051: Is it going to be rated R or PG-13?' I want ?#Deadpool to be R. Always have. Fighting the good fight still. Lotta yelling today."
Could this mean that there is hope for a rated R version? This is pretty unlikely, but you never know if there could be an unrated version.
Deadpool creator Rob Liefield seems to have hope in the movie still being successful as a PG-13 film.
"If HANNIBAL can air on primetime network television, DEADPOOL can be PG-13 and still be bad ***," he responds in a tweet from a follower.
'Deadpool' is set to premiere on February 12th, 2016.
