'Deadpool' Cast News, Rumors: Hugh Jackman's Wolverine to Possibly Appear in Upcoming Film?

Actor Ryan Reynolds recently expressed his hope for a cameo in his upcoming 'Deadpool' movie that would be sure to delight fans and newcomers of the franchise all alike.

In an interview with News.com.eu, Reynolds spoke on how he would really love to see Hugh Jackman reprise his role as Wolverine in the film, even if just for a short cameo.

It would also make sense in context of the comic book lore, as the two characters have a lot of history together. The two were both featured together in 'X:Men Origins: Wolverine,' but the actors and studio have stated that version of Deadpool won't have anymore continuity in the franchise.

"God I hope so, that would be really nice," Reynolds stated, "I dunno, we'll see. It seems like he's open to it, but it's gonna be more of a scheduling issue than anything else."

The actor made it at least sound like it could be possible, but Jackman has already stated that he would be reprising the role of the character once more for his third solo film. It's unknown if this would count for cameos.

Here's the synopsis for 'Deadpool':

"Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life."

The movie is set to feature a lot of characters from the 'X-Men' universe, including Angel Dust, Colossus, and Copycat.

'Deadpool' drops into theaters on February 12, 2016.
