'Deadpool' Cast News, Rumors: Hugh Jackman to Play Wolverine Role in Upcoming Film
Famous for portraying Wolverine, Hugh Jackman recently suggested that he may possibly reprise his character in Ryan Reynolds' 'Deadpool' as well as in the newest installment of the 'X-Men' movie franchise - 'X-Men Apocalypse.'
IB Times reports that during a promotion of his latest documentary film 'Dukale Dreams,' the Australian actor told Huffington Post that while he is currently unable to confirm anything regarding rumors about his appearance in Ryan Reynolds' upcoming film 'Deadpool,' anything was possible, as Reynolds is a good friend.
When Jackman was questioned about his appearance in 'X Men: Apocalypse,' he remarked, "Who knows?"
As far as the storyline of 'Deadpool' is concerned, it narrate the tale of a mercenary named Wade Wilson, who develops accelerating healing powers and adopts an alter ego, Deadpool after being subjected to a rogue experiment. Reynolds plays the lead character in the movie. On the other hand, 'X-Men: Apocalypse' is a sequel to 2014 movie 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' and it will feature Oscar Isaac as the main antagonist called Apocalypse.
During his conversation with the publication, Jackman also shared information regarding his coming movie 'Wolverine 3.'
He told Huffington Post, "Weirdly, I'm really excited about shooting it. I feel great enthusiasm. I suppose its denial - like the football player who announces their retirement before their last season - and so I'm really looking forward to it. But I know its not over yet! I still got a lot of 4 o'clock mornings and a hell of a lot of egg white omelettes and steamed chicken to have, and all of that."
While James Mangold is at the helm of 'Wolverine 3,' Michael Green has written the script. However, there is still no information regarding the plot details of this movie. It is worth noting here that as Jackman will play Wolverine for the last time in this movie, Marvel Entertainment has already launched a search for a suitable replacement for the future films in the franchise.
Confirming this, Jackman said, "They were all really supportive - 17 years is a long time. And I'm sure that they've already started casting, you know? Someone may sign up for an 11-picture deal, as we speak."
'Wolverine 3' will be released on March 2, 2017.
