After the announcement revealing that the X-Men character Colossus would be featured in the new 'Deadpool' film, actor Daniel Cudmore was instantly speculated by fans to reprise the role.

Cudmore played the titanium titan in the last two X-Men installments, 'X-Men: The Last Stand' and 'Days of Future Past', however he has recently revealed that he won't be taking on the role for this project.

The actor recently took to Twitter to confront the rumors:

"Thanks everyone for all the support for me 2 reprise the role of ?#Colossus in ?#Deadpool but unfortunately it won't be happening for me."

"I've had a blast playing such an awesome character over the years! ?#Deadpool will be kick-a** with ?#TimMiller and ?@VancityReynolds ?#BestFans."

In the two films Cudmore was featured in, his character was never given a big opportunity to make a defining feature. I'm sure fans were excited to see him in the new 'Deadpool' hoping that he'd have a chance to play a bigger role.

On that note, it hasn't yet been reported who will be taking over the role as Colossus.
