'Deadpool 2' Release Date News, Rumors: Ryan Reynolds Film Set To Arrive In Late 2017 or Early 2018?

The news reports surrounding "Deadpool 2" have been scarce, which is understandable since the sequel is still in the development phase. The release date is not yet clear, either, although there are rumors about the film premiering next year at the soonest possible time.

The only thing that's almost certain at this point is the appearance of Cable, which was hinted by Ryan Reynolds at the end credits of the first film.

Of course, the rumor mill is silent as to who will play the futuristic warrior, who is the son of Cyclops and Jean Grey's clone, Madelyne Pryor. While casual comic readers might not know who Cable is, in the Marvel comics he defeated Apocalypse in the future, which should be interesting trivia in light of the looming May 19 release date for "X-Men: Apocalypse."

Cable and Deadpool have already crossed paths multiple times, and have both defeated each other in fights. But there's also the mini-series, "Deadpool & Cable: Split Second" where they teamed up to fight a time-traveling assassin.

It's not clear what kind of version of Cable will appear on "Deadpool 2," but there should be fireworks because the Merc with the Mouth annoys the heck out of Cable.

After becoming a huge box-office hit, there's no doubt about the sequel being made. According to Box Office Mojo, the original film earned $361,132,461 in domestic ticket sales, and another $399,098,006 in worldwide receipts.

In previous news article from Comic Book, director Tim Miller will again helm "Deadpool 2" as 20th Century Fox tapped Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese to pen the script.

There's no official release date yet for "Deadpool 2" but rumors point to a possible Oct. 6, 2017 or Jan. 12, 2018 schedule since 20th Century Fox already reserved those dates for an unknown movie.
