'Deadpool' 2 Release Date News: Box Office Reaches $135 Million Opening, Movie Is Hilariously Funny?
"The Merc With A Mouth" hits the cinemas big time as "Deadpool" captured the hearts of not just the avid Marvel fans, but the moviegoers as well. The sarcastic superhero movie set a whopping $135 million profit during the Valentines day weekend.
The movie is expected to hit a sales tally of $65 million in its opening week, notes Entertainment Weekly. However, "Deadpool" had overcome the expectation by gathering sales twice than the prediction.
Ryan Reynolds and the rest of the gang surpassed big movie like the 2003 film "The Matrix Reloaded" with $98 million opening sales record-one of the longest-held records in cinematic history until "Deadpool, as per The Hollywood Reporter news.
Despite the successful premiere, some website just can't help but release a review that seemed to critic the film the other way around. One instance is this quote from Deadline:
"The film has a self-deprecating tone that's riotous. It's never been done before. It's poking fun at Marvel. That label takes itself so seriously, can you imagine them making fun of themselves in a movie? They'd rather stab themselves," as written.
For that, the "Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn quickly slammed the website, saying that the one who said that must have come from the"dumbest f*cking Hollywood exec in the history of dumb f*cking Hollywood execs."
"And I love Deadpool even more - the film is hilariously funny, has lots of heart, and is exactly what we need right now, taking true risks in spectacle film," he said on his Facebook account, as quoted by the Independent.
