'Dead Rising 4' News: Title Features Frank, Camera’s Comeback; Game Is No Longer Part Of Xbox Play Anywhere?

Capcom's "Dead Rising 4" is set to see Frank and his camera in a brand new story, as per studio head Joe Nickolls. Also, it is revealed that the upcoming game title will not be included in Xbox Play Anywhere.

Nickolls recently revealed the future of Capcom's forthcoming title an interview with Game Reactor. The studio director said that when they had finished "Dead Rising 3," they had taken a bit of time to kind of plan out what they had wanted to do. He mentioned that they had kept coming back to Frank, because the fans loved Frank and he was the original character.

For Nickolls, it was the perfect timing to bring Frank back, as it had been "Dead Rising's" tenth anniversary. While fans are set to see Frank in a world where all things started, the studio director clarified that the upcoming title was not a remake, but a brand new story.

Along with Frank's return is his camera's return. In the same interview, Nickolls said that Frank would be using his camera as a tool, more than just taking pictures of what was going on. He added that the camera was bound to have several filters, night vision mode, and spectral analyzer, which would help him find hidden objects, solve puzzles, and open various areas in-game.

Meanwhile, it is revealed that "Dead Rising 4" will not be part of Xbox's Play Anywhere. Microsoft's Xbox representative told Digital Trends that the title would not be an Xbox Play Anywhere title while Capcom Vancouver was excited about its potential.

According to the representative, their team was excited to partner with the company to help achieve their ambitious vision for the title this holiday, in which fans would be able to play the title on Microsoft Windows PC and Xbox One.

For the time being, "Dead Rising 4" is expected to come out in the final quarter of 2016.
