Another main character could be making its farewell episode in "Days of Our Lives."

A lot of tragic things have happened in the series in 2015. We saw deaths of major characters such as Will Horton, who was killed by Ben; and Bob who was a victim of a fatal brain tumor. To add to that, we have also seen the passing away of Dr. Daniel Jonas in a tragic car accident.

According to Inquisitr, everyone will gather together this week to say farewell to Daniel. Eric will be affected so much, knowing he had something to do with the death of the character.

The DiMera family patriarch Stefano DiMera, played by Joseph Mascolo, has also been taken out by Hope, played by Kristian Alfonso.

According to ENSTARS, there had been some speculations going on for a little while that another major character from "Days of Our Lives" would experience death this 2016. Reports have suggested that it could be Stefano since Mascolo was speculated to be forced to retire from the show.  The rumors appeared to be true. The character died due to multiple gunshot wounds to the chest after Hope finally had enough of his continually taunting her.

If Stefano is really dead this time, it might mean that a lot of main characters could be exiting the show real soon. Following the accident, Eric, played by Greg Vaughan, is also expected to make an exit from the show after speculations indicate that the actor has been fired by the showrunners. What will happen to Eric? Where would he go? What will the producers do to his character?

On the other hand, Abigail, played by Kate Mansi, is also expected to take an exit from the series around the half part of the year. Mansi's chose not to extend her contract with the show. It is still yet to be confirmed what will happen to her character.

"Days of Our Lives" airs weekdays at 1 p.m. ET on NBC and 8 p.m. ET on POP.
