David Phelps, Southern Gospel Singer will Tour Europe This Summer Promoting his 'Classic' Album

Multi-Platinum artist, David Phelps, released his latest album Classic back in 2012 that focused more on the classical and theatrical music era.

The Dove award winning Southern Gospel artist became known singing and recording with the Gather Vocal band.

Phelps newest album was the first of this genre to be released by Phelps and it was clear that the intention was to make his way through a whole different music scene very quickly.

Classic includes 13 arias, classical anthems, and pop songs with original writing that directly reflects Phelps lifetime of musical achievements. " I feel like this genre fits my vocal gifts, and I believe it is the next anchor point of my journey." stated Phelps on his first impression of doing his own album.

With already dominating the southern Gospel scene with the beloved Gather Vocal Band, Phelps has led himself to whole other paths that lets the listener hear his remarkable inspiring and testimonial lyrics.

All his songs on the Classical track list were all either co-written or written by himself, and offer an incredible profession of Faith. The album was derived from Turandot's signature aria "Nessun Dorma", in which he continued to play with his signature band and then later included it in his pop album The Voice. "It was career changing... It immediately took on a life of its own, wether I sang it in an arena , convention, or church, people were on their feet before I finished. Its just such an amazing piece of art." stated Phelps of his first performances of the aria.

After just recently finishing up his tour with the Gather Vocal band, David will began kicking off his solo album tour this summer. The tour is said to begin in June or early July and will be his first classic European  tour. The tour will include 11 different stops from Faroe Islands to Germany, while also stopping in Beirut in early July.

Though technically this will not be his first stop in Europe the classical genre is what sparked interest in fans to get this tour on the road. The album started out at about 100 titles and ended with 13 prestigious tracks that will be sure influence an audience.

Phelps stated with his release he is also quite excited for the tour this summer and sharing this experience with his fans. "This certainly creates interest for me artistically, but I also hope to open a door for folks who either don't know or may have previously discarded classical music. If the album helps them discover this style and in the process elevates or moves them, I have probably done my job as an artist and a human being about as good as I can."
