David Beckham Latest News: Soccer Star Doing Cameo for Guy Ritchie in ‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E.’
David Beckham has indeed had a very interesting career. He has been a legendary footballer, a successful model and is not a flourishing movie star. According to latest reports, Beckham has been signed up for a role in director Guy Ritchie's upcoming film 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.'
IB Times reports that 40-year-old Beckham will soon be seen in the action movie along with 'Batman v. Superman' actor Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer and Hugh Grant. 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.' is based on the 1960s TV series and it narrates the story of CIA agent Napoleon Solo and KGB operative Illya Kuryakin. According to IMDb, they work together in a mission to put the work of an unknown criminal organization that produces nuclear weapons to an end.
While IMDb does not offer any details regarding Beckham's role in 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,' the Sun newspaper reports via Hello magazine that the erstwhile footballer seems to be "very grateful" to Ritchie for giving him a "small role." According to the report, Beckham is likely to appear in the beginning of the film and reveal the mission. The magazine said that the legendary footballer shot for his scene in just a day.
In fact, rumors about Beckham's involvement in 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.' began when his wife and former Spice girl Victoria posted his picture posing in front of the movie's poster. The photo was accompanied by a caption, "Excited to see The Man from U.N.C.L.E! @guyritchie @davidbeckham x vb #MANfromUNCLE."
Meanwhile, Ritchie has also confirmed that Beckham is doing a cameo in his movie. In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Ritchie said, "He's in the film. He's in there... He's marginally disguised, but he's in the movie. I mean, once you know who it is, you'll know who it is!"
However, 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.' will not be the first time for Beckham working with Ritchie. Earlier, they worked together in Ritchie's upcoming 'Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur.' In this movie, the former England football captain stars alongside Charlie Hunnam, who plays King Arthur.
'Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur' is scheduled for release on July 22, 2016.
