'Dark Souls 3' News: Update Nerfs Dark Sword; Twitch Streamer Beats Game Unhit; Game Poise Stat Unveiled

Along with talks on how the game developers managed "Dark Souls 3's" poise stat, it is revealed that the iconic weapon, the Dark Sword, has become weaker. Also, a Twitch streamer has reportedly beaten the game without being hit.

"Dark Souls 3's" update nerfed the Dark Sword, the game's infamous blade, as per Steam Community. Having reduced weapon efficiency, it is further revealed that the sword lost five percent effectiveness.

According to the publication, the aforementioned update has brought a number of changes to the overall gameplay and certain items in the game. These include increased critical attack strength for all dagger weapons, decreased scaling effects of Anri's Straight Sord, boosted faith scaling and controlled weapon efficiency of the Wolnir's Holy Sword, Morne's Great Hammer, and Lothric's Holy Sword, among others.

It is further revealed that all shield-piercing weapons are set to have booster properties when it comes to ordinary attacks while all skills that enchant a certain weapon with special properties are set to stretch the effect duration.

In other news, a "Dark Souls 3" player managed to beat the game without getting hit. According to PC Gamer, Twitch streamer FaraazKhan was able to complete the game in less than three hours without being debilitated by the skills and weapons of his character's enemies.

As per the clip in FaraazKhan's Twitch channel, it can be seen that he just traversed majority of the game's path with dodge rolling moves. While he also made use of magic and arrows for long-range targets, he evaded several of the game's optional bosses.

Meanwhile, a "Dark Souls 3" developer has shared his thoughts on the title's poise stat. In his interview with Kotaku, a Bandai Namco spokesperson said that the poise stat was working as intended and was not turned off as some fans had theorized. He added that the stat worked differently than in past games and was more situational, which seemed to be the reason for the confusion.

Developed by FromSoftware, "Dark Souls 3" was released on Mar. 24.
