'Dark Souls 3' DLC Release Date News: Game Set For October 25 Release, New Magic, Weapons, Armor

New details on the release date and gameplay FromSoftware's "Dark Souls 3" DLC, "Ashes of Ariandel" have surfaced.

The game's forthcoming DLC is set to be released on Oct. 25, PC Gamer has learned. As per the publication, the studio officially revealed that "Ashes of Ariandel" was the game's first expansion and the second will come out in early 2017. It is added that the game update is set to showcase new spells, weapons, and armor, along with a new PvP region called Immortal Competition.

In a statement, as cited by the publication, Bandai Namco noted that the game lets players to discover a horrifying secret that is cradled by the frozen land of Ariandel. According to the studio, players have to access Ariandel and take down the evil within to know the mystery behind the land's current status.

"Dark Souls" previously teased the content to the players. On Aug. 17, people behind the game wrote on Twitter "Huge news on the way, folks. "What is it?' You ask? Well, you're going to have to wait to find out.

In line with "Dark Soul 3's" 1.07 update, the game servers were down for a few hours, denying players from accessing the game's online multiplayer mode. According to Express, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One game servers were down from Aug. 24 to Aug. 25. On the other hand, the Steam servers were down on Aug. 25.

Overall, "Dark Soul 3: Ashes of Ariandel" is set to arrive for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows on Oct. 25.
