'Daredevil' Season 2 Review Roundup, Spoilers: Sophomore Season Disappointment? Punisher Punishes With Glee

Season 2 of "Daredevil" could not deliver on the promise teased during the pilot, and the presence of the Punisher, while ramping up the violence, wasn't really given weight by the lackluster writing, according to some spoilers.

Comic Book Resources said that "Daredevil" season at times felt like an extension of the origins story, only this time the plot is stretched to 13 episodes.

There's every chance in the world that this second season could be 'The Dark Knight' to season one's 'Batman Begins,'" it said.

The problem is that "Daredevil" season 2 feels like a setup to the "Defenders" series that Netflix is cooking up, instead of developing the characters of Matt Murdock, Foggy Nelson and Karen Page.

The appearances of Frank Castle and Elektra in "Daredevil" season 2 are not exactly spoilers, but the writers played spoilsport by failing to give substance to the dynamics between Matt's methods against The Punisher's killing spree.

"The show's lackluster writing does a disservice to this complex idea in both substance and dialogue," Alex Abad-Santos wrote in his review for Vox.

He also dished episode 3 spoilers for "Daredevil" season 2 when he described the dialogue between Frank and Matt at the rooftop where they are explaining where they are both coming from.

"The rest of the exchange is both overwrought and bare, as the two men repeat the same idea - Punisher kills people, Daredevil doesn't - in a multitude of different ways, none of them poignant enough to leave a mark," he added.

Nevertheless, nobody can be accused of giving spoilers for "Daredevil" season 2 when remarking how Vincent D'Onofrio steals the show as William Fisk aka Kingpin in every scene that he's in.
