'Daredevil' Season 2 Spoilers, News: The Punisher to Play Main Antagonist?
The recent announcement of The Punisher joining the second season of 'Daredevil' was huge news for many fans, as he's classically been an underrepresented character in live-action appearances.
As of recent no details have been released about his inclusion, however a recent report now tells fans that the anti-hero will play a fairly large role in the series. Co-showrunner Marco Ramirez has been quoted referring to season two as "Daredevil vs. the Punisher," making some epic bouts between the two characters pretty much inevitable.
It is speculated that the two will largely butt heads on how they decide to take care of the crime in Hell's Kitchen, as The Punisher is the type to take no prisoners.
"Given that the first season ends with - spoiler alert - Matt Murdock turning Kingpin into the police and pledging not to kill in the name of justice, it's natural that he would be at odds with the Punisher's take-no-prisoners style of vigilante justice. However, the title of "Daredevil vs. the Punisher" is more of a philosophical battle that'll take place over the season. With Kingpin out of the picture, a power vacuum will be created that the city's villainous vermin will try and fill. With all these termites crawling out of the woodwork, the Punisher will likely emerge and try to exterminate them. However, as the self-appointed protector of Hell's Kitchen, Daredevil is going to have to put a stop to that," writes The Nerdist.
A common villain in the season hasn't yet been identified, but the casting of Bullseye was rumored not too long ago.
Fans will have to patiently await for the show to arrive back on Netflix in early 2016.
