'Daredevil' Season 2 News: Rosario Dawson Speaks About The Punisher Joining Series
Actress Rosario Dawson gave a star-studded performance as Claire Temple in Marvel's 'Daredevil' series and recent news has reassured us that she would be back for the second season.
The actress was recently approached while promoting her involvement with the video game 'Call of Duty: Black Ops III' at E3, in where she was prompted to give some details on the happenings of the show's next season.
"I'm looking forward to seeing where that goes, because her eyes have been opened up to this other world - and she's crossed the line," Dawson tells MTV. "You know, this is someone who helps people, and she's been violent now but seeing the need for it. I think there's a lot that she's having to grapple with, and I think that's what's exciting about using this show to explore street-level characters: it makes it that much more closer to us."
Dawson also offered some insight on the introduction of the Punisher, announced to be played by actor Jon Bernthal.
That's going to raise the stakes so much more, because Matt Murdock almost behaves like the Punisher in the first season," she said. "[Matt] crosses the line quite often, so it's going to be really interesting to see how they differentiate them and where that goes."
Being a prominent character in the comics regarding a lot of the Defender characters, Dawson isn't certain what the studio has planned for her yet.
"I have no idea how they're wanting me to come back or in which way, shape or form," Dawson said, "but it's nice to know that I've got a character who does kind of string everyone together and bring all those worlds together."
Season 2 of 'Daredevil' is set to premiere next year.
