'Daredevil' Season 2 Cast News: Rosario Dawson Confirmed for Upcoming Series Installment

Fans of 'Daredevil' can expect to see actress Rosario Dawson back in the second season, and possibly in some of the other Marvel Netflix series in the near future.

She's just signed a deal to appear again in next year's season, but this contract encompasses all of the properties that Marvel plans to add to Netflix, such as the upcoming 'AKA Jessica Jones,' or 'Luke Cage.'

Dawson will reprise her role as Claire in the series, one of Matt Murdock's love interests in the show.

"Romantically entangled with Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) in Season 1, Claire helped the hero after more than a few of his brutal battles in the streets of Hell's Kitchen. Cast also includes Vincent D'Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Scott Glenn, Bob Gunton, Toby Leonard Moore, Vondie Curtis Hall, and Ayelet Zurer," writes Deadline.

Jeph Loeb, the head of Marvel TV, released this statement:

"After working with Rosario in the first season, we knew instantly that we had to have her back for our second. Claire Temple proved a fan favorite in Season 1, and we can't wait for fans to see all the plans we have for her next."

Here's what Loeb had to say about initially casting Dawson:

"Rosario Dawson is one the most charismatic, talented and powerful actresses in Hollywood, so she was always at the top of our list for 'Marvel's Daredevil,' Her role in the series is absolutely critical to Matt Murdock's journey to become the hero we know as Daredevil."

'Daredevil' plans to enter its second season in 2016.
