The cast of comic book adapted characters seems to be expanding even further in the next season of Marvel's 'Daredevil' series.

Fans who saw the first season will remember the character Melvin Gregg portrayed by actor Matt Gerald. What many people don't know is that Melvin was one of Daredevil's first villains in the comics until eventually siding with the vigilante as the Gladiator.

A recent post made on the series' Instagram now suggest that the actor will be suiting up in the second season. It reads:

"I gotta be good. So I make things. I'm good at making things. ?#Daredevil"

Here's Marvel Wiki's description of the character:

"Gladiator has no superhuman abilities. However, he is a superb martial arts fighter and very physically powerful. He wore a thick metal armor with a helmet and metallic gauntlets, and was armed with an arsenal of edged weapons and whirling, jagged circular sawblades made of titanium steel, one mounted on each gauntlet. Small rotors in the gauntlets cause the blades to rotate at high speeds, and the whirling blades could also be detached to serve as short-range missile weapons."

The show has also enlisted the titular Elektra and The Punisher to make their debut on the show.

Marvel CCO Joe Quesada spoke on the actors to portray them in an interview with IGN:

"We're so happy to have Jon Bernthal because we have such a world-class cast on Daredevil; we have a world-class actor in Charlie Cox that we want to make sure we chose and were able to attain an actor who is on that same level so I think the combination of seeing Charlie and John perform those parts on the same screen. It's going to be epic, absolutely epic."

"I can't say enough about Elodie Yung. Literally, we scoured the world for the right Elektra and, man, she is the character. She looks like the character, she walks like the character, and then she has the martial arts training and stunt background that she can rely on. It's going to be really, really awesome to see her take over the role and see how she embodies and how she personifies Elektra. But again, another world-class actor who I think is going to bring something really special to Daredevil. And I think we established a really good tempo with Season 1, so fans can hopefully expect much more of the same."
