Danny Devito Express Thoughts On Actor Robin Lord Taylor's Penguin in 'Gotham'

While actor Danny Devito was spotted at the TCA's promoting the new season to his television show, "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia," Access Hollywood couldn't resist asking the actor his thoughts on the "Gotham" Penguin, played by Robin Lord Taylor.

As many know, Devito played the Penguin years ago in Burton's "Batman Returns" adaptation in 1992. His performance for the character was one of the most memorable so his input on the new show's take on the character was much appreciated.

"I've watched the show. I think he's a very good young Penguin. He's a terrific actor," Devito put simply.

Despite the vastly different take on the characters, they've both been appreciated by fans, as Taylor's performance of the character is above the most favored on the show.

Devito was also asked if he thinks he would ever make an appearance on the show in some way or another.

"I don't know about that," the actor stated, "Again, it's all about the schedules and the parts and like how the thing is written and what it would be and there are so many particulars."

Of course Devito wouldn't be reprising his own role, but a cameo on the show as perhaps Penguin's father or something would be a nice little easter egg for the fans.

This would really all depend on how much the show wanted the actor, and vice versa. "Gotham" has just been picked up for a second season so it's a sure thing the show won't be going anywhere soon, and neither the opportunity for Devito.

Until then, fans can catch Devito on his show, "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia," which currently airs at 10:00 pm ET/PT on FXX.
