'Dancing with the Stars' Season 20 New Contestant News: 'The Bachelor' Star Chris Soules Joins Cast

Once the current bachelor announces his bride-to-be on "The Bachelor" finale, Chris Soules will hit the dance floor as the twelfth contestant on Season 20 of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."

On that note, Soules isn't the only bachelor to appear on the show. Fellow Bachelor stars Sean Lowe and Jake Pavelka have also has their shot at the Mirrorball title. Bachelorettes Trista Sutter and castoff Melissa Rycroft have also danced on the show.

The contestants were first announced on Good Morning America on February 24, with one slot still open. The show's host, Tom Bergeron was thought to mispronounce a word at the time, saying that the next contestant couldn't "rose" so early to get to the show. US Weekly later reported that Bergeron was hinting at Soules' appearance for the next season of "DWTS."

Soules will dance with reigning champion Whitney Carson. She won the Mirrorball last season with fan favorite Alfonso Ribeiro, who is most known for his role on the hit TV series "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air."

The cast members for Season 20 of "Dancing with the Stars" are as follows: football star Michael Sam, Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin, legendary singer Patti LaBelle, "Shark Tank's" Robert Herjavec, "Glee" actor and singer Riker Lynch, model Charlotte McKinney, U.S. army vet and amputee Noah Galloway, LMFAO's Redfoo, actress Suzanne Somer, and daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore Rumer Willis.

According to US Weekly, Soules met with "DWTS" producers several weeks ago, finalizing plans and getting more information about the show. A source even said he called Lowe for advice. The source said, "He seems like he's not totally sure what he's getting himself into! It will be fascinating to see how well he does."

Season 20 of "Dancing with the Stars" premieres on March 16 at 8:00 pm on ABC.
