'Dancing With The Stars' News & Update: Maksim Chmerkovsiy And Brother Val Are Back To The Ballroom?
Fan-favorite Maksim Chmerkovsiy is back to the ballroom of "Dancing with the Stars" when the show returns for season 23.
This is the first time that the 36-year-old dancer will be back since season 18. On the other hand, his pregnant fiancée and fellow pro, Peta Murgatroyd, will temporarily leave the show to prepare for the birth of their son. Earlier this summer, the couple announced their pregnancy. They have been dating since 2012 and got engaged December last year.
Chmerkovskiy's brother Val, who was busy on tour with him this summer, is also set to return as a pro in the upcoming season. Other returning pros to join him are Gleb Savchenko, Witney Carson, Artem Chigvintsev, Sharna Burgess, Lindsay Arnold, Allison Holker and Sasha Farber.
In his interview with "Good Morning America" earlier this week, Val revealed that the upcoming season will be amazing.
"It's going to be amazing. We're going to have an incredible cast as always, but I'm also excited for the pros. We have a lot of different pros coming back. Some pros from back, back in the day, so I'm excited," he said.
Val also revealed that the upcoming season is going to be a new show.
"It's constantly evolving and we have a nice mix and balance of young kids that are inspired and very motivated to bring out the essence of this generation, but also we have some more classic, conservative dancers from the past as well," he added.
"Dancing with the Stars" season 23 is set to kick off on September 12, 8:00 P.M. on ABC.
