'Dancing With the Stars' Cast To Join 'Dirty Dancing?'
ABC is leaning towards doing a remake of "Dirty Dancing" starred by Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey in the late 80s.
Abigail Breslin of "Scream Queens and Little Miss Sunshine" has recently been casted as "Baby", the character that was originally played by Jennifer Grey. So far, there are no official news about the casting of Patrick Swayze's role. Although according to Inquisitr, "Dancing With the Stars" member, Derek Hough, might take the iconic role.
Derek Hough is an American professional Latin and ballroom dancer. The 30-year-old dancer has starred in a couple stage productions such as "Footloose: The Musical" in 2006 and as well as "New York Spring Spectacular" in 2015 which was held at the Radio Music Hall in New York City.
There seems to be a hype escalating from the fans of Derek. Apparently, his fans from DWTS thinks that he is the perfect man for the role. "Dancing with The Stars" cast was just spending time in Australia with season 21 winner, Bindi Irwin after they were done with the season. He went to Fiji right after with his bestfriend, Mark Ballas.
The are also speculations going around that Derek might also be included in the Broadway production, "Dancing in the Rain".
Derek will have a lot of projects at hand if ever those speculations are true. But there seems to be a chance that the professional dancer could pull it off. He could probably juggle those projects altogether since ABC's "Dirty Dancing" is not a live show; indicating a flexible schedule for Derek.
